If you’ve traveled, either on your own or on a cruise, you’ve probably experienced “The Tour.” You sign up on a website somewhere, try to do some due diligence to see if it’s worth the money, and then cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I recently went on a bicycle tour of Hamburg that was touted as “Historical Hamburg.” Being a history buff, I was looking forward to hearing about Hamburg’s origins, their role in the wars, and what makes the city “tick.”
